Jamie Janover is recognized as a true innovator. His considerable creative output includes: being a master of the ancient percussion stringed instrument called the hammered dulcimer, inventing and performing on an instrument he calls the “mini-kit” (a miniature amplified drum kit), playing pyrocussion (fire drums) and creating the RealmsMobile (a recumbent tricycle with the mini-kit attached, enabling him to ride and play drums simultaneously). Combining the innovations of modern technology with the wisdom of ancient instruments, Janover is making music that has never even been possible until very recently, achieving a creative balance between the acoustic and the electronic to create a unified field: music reflective of the polarized nature of modern times. For many years Jamie has maintained a rigorous touring schedule, alternating between several acts including: LYNX & Janover, ZILLA (w/ Michael Travis from SCI and Aaron Holstein), PRAANG (w/ EOTO & Steve Kimock) and The Everyone Orchestra, among others. In the last 2 years alone, Janover has performed at over 50 festivals in countries as diverse as Japan, New Zealand Portugal, Indonesia, Australia, Canada & the USA. In his own words “My name is Dustin Thomas. I’ve got a guitar called forgiveness and a song in my heart.” There’s a lot to say about this amazing singer songwriter about his voice, his creative songs and the electrifying presence he shares. He has played mostly around Minnesota (and other areas for about 5 years). He got more connected with the west coast & Hawaiian Islands music scene when Medicine for the People founder (Nahko) invited him to open for them at gigs on the Big Island… He created quite a buzz there and he also ended up at summer Mystic Garden Gathering 2012 jamming under the name The Aloha Family Band. It’s said ‘a picture is worth a 1000s words’. Well, in this picture you can see how everyone is activated, magnetized & uplifted with Dustin, his guitar and his voice in the center of it all… We look forward to him sharing is blend music-magic at Maui Mystic this Feb! How in the world do you begin to describe a man whose music, personality and million-dollar smile have had such an influence in the Rogue Valley? How do you describe Frankie’s music, which is at a level that takes us beyond just music, but into a realmof passion, harmony and peace? I found many online music sites that described Frankie Hernandez’s music as a cross between Ben Harper, Bob Marley, Sublime and Ozomatli. He has even been referred to as the “Latino Stevie Wonder,” with his dazzling lyrics along with his soft and subtle, yet direct singing-style. On his Facebook page, the singer/songwriter/guitarist/trumpet player describes his music as the commitment to the “empowerment and elevation of the Human spirit and condition through music,” adding that he hopes his music brings “ecstasy, joy, laughter, tears, stimulating thought and improved self-esteem.” What I find when I listen to his music is an eclectic mix of reggae, acoustic-folk and groovy latin-beats blended cohesively with a high level of originality that surpasses any specific genre or style. It’s Frankie, and behind the many influences reflected in his work, most of all, is the honesty he brings to each piece. It is easy to see [...]

While Scott plays he appears to have an endless supply of spiritual energy, and he gives of this energy and of himself, freely and unselfishly, to his audience. At the end of his performance, his audience is physically, emotionally and spiritually renewed. Scott’s music encompasses a joy of being, a passion for life, and a love for all of the creatures of this Earth. It is with this music that Scott hopes to help heal the wounds of the Earth and all of its creatures, and to transform that pain and sorrow into peace, beauty, joy and love. Out of an acoustic guitar, he coaxes, drums, strums, slaps, rattles, improvises, dances, bends and infuses fractals, harmonics and sounds not of this dimension. Scott has developed over 200 open guitar tunings and his intricate licks incorporate elements of rock, folk, blues and fusion. He peppers a rhythmic groove with the warping and bending of notes, complete with an array of harmonic surprises. A rich and multitextured sound, including Scott’s percussive interludes creates the illusion of three or four musicians performing.

Classically trained on violin and piano since the age of 4, Maesyn composes all of her own orchestration, and thrives on improvisation. She fronts her own band, and also has performed on stage for thousands, guesting in with artists such as Matisyahu, and Killa Priest from Wu Tang Clan. She spent many moons as the singer for the conscious west coast hip-hop band, Luminaries. Her music is an amalgamation of funky grooves, sultry passionate vocals, orchestral musicality, sophisticated lyricism, and inspirational esotericism.
